Manawatu Dirt Divas Frocks on Shocks 2026

Prepare to be Star Stuck!  The Manawatu Dirt Divas' 2026 Frocks on Shocks event is on Saturday 2 May in a brand new red carpet location: Tutaenui Reservoir Reserve, Marton.

Frocks on Shocks is a fun, relaxed, cross-country relay event just for women and girls (over the age of 10) put on by the Manawatū Dirt Divas to celebrate International Women’s MTB Day (first Saturday each May). 

Bring your inner celeb to life.. whether you're a Hollywood starlet, pop queen, rock legend, or movie icon. Think glam, drama, and full main-character energy.

Riders will complete as many laps of a non-technical loop trail (15-30 mins) as they can in three hours. Suitable for competent beginners and above (Grade 2 trails). 

Categories:  Actress in a Leading Role/ Single Artist (Single rider),  Supporting Actresses/ Duo (Pairs),  Ensemble Cast/Group (Teams of 3 or 4 riders), Star/Understudy (Mother-Daughter pairs). 

As always, there will be an award for Best Costume Design! 

If you want to ride in a pair/team but don’t have anyone to ride with, please contact us at dirtdivas@mmbc.co.nz and we’ll try to help. We will find out from you at registration whether/how many e-bikers are on your team. 

Bring along some snacks to share (we'll provide the bananas).

When and where:

Tutaenui Reservoir Reserve, Marton 

Race village will be at the end of Tutaenui Rd, where it curves into Galpins Rd. 

Registration from 11 to 11.30am.

Event village carpark will close at 11.15am.

Mandatory briefing at 11.45am. 

The race will begin at 12pm so get there in time to park your car out of the way, put on those costumes and tart yourself up! 

Cost: 

$25 per person adult

$15 per person under 19

Prize-giving will be at the venue, starting at 3.30pm. Prizes for Category Winners, Best Dressed, Best Dressed Team, plus Spot prizes.
